Miles 2.5

Camped at mm 219.1

I woke to Stone Soup plopping coffee and yogurt and a banana and an orange down next to me.

Here you go, she said.

Wow, awesome! I croaked.

We got up and blogged and charged things and did all the things and then Denise came over! Our OG Trail Angel from Denver who took us to trail in the very beginning was camped at the Avalanche Trailhead, hoping we’d come through. We’d missed her last night, and now here she was! We squealed and hugged and laughed and were so pleased.

We stashed our packs in a locked cabinet at the Super 8 Motel with the super nice lady behind the desk promising to watch over them, and off we went.

In true angel form, Denise ran us all over town all day. To urgent care to have my foot looked at again (got cleared to continue), to the grocery store, to the post office twice, to the drug store, to the gear store, everywhere.

We never could’ve done it without her. All that on foot would’ve been too much.

We went back to Super 8 to get our packs and had to deal with Mr. Grump-Master-McGhee who’d taken over the shift behind the desk and refused to even get Stone Soup some water for her water bottle. But at least he unlocked the cabinet so we could have our packs back. Poor guy, havin’ a miserable life and all.

Anyway, Denise took us back to trail and we headed down a bit and tucked ourselves away in a little tent city along with a bunch of other hikers. Next to a beautiful stream.

The sound of the water carried me into the Land of Dreams and Honey…

Your blogs are wonderful. I’m glad you saw a doctor.
